STUDY PERMIT & POST GRADUATE WORK PERMIT

After completing their studies, international students may be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which allows them to work in Canada for a period of time equal to the length of their program of study, up to a maximum of three years. The PGWP is an open work permit, which means that individuals can work for any Canadian employer in any industry. The PGWP is designed to allow international students to gain Canadian work experience, which may be valuable for future immigration applications or for advancing their careers.

To be eligible for a PGWP, individuals must have completed a full-time program of study at a DLI that is at least eight months in duration, and they must apply for the PGWP within 180 days of receiving written confirmation that they have completed their program of study. The PGWP is a popular option for international students who wish to remain in Canada and gain valuable work experience after completing their studies.
